民间的风俗习惯是由民族的历史、生活环境和民族心理等多种因素决定的。台州历史悠久，风景秀丽，可谓人杰地灵。在浓厚的历史人文氛围和平和散淡的台州性格的双重浸润下，台州不仅产生了许许多多小吃，而且形成了一些独特的吃法文化。
台州的小吃是朴实的，是平民化的，你可以看到西装革履的食客，也可以看到光着膀子的民工，男女老少，坐在热气腾腾的一碗碗小吃前，聊天说笑。逢年过节，家家户户都会做各种地方风味浓郁的小吃，十五羹、清明青团、四月初八乌饭麻糍、六月六漾糕、九月九重阳糕、冬至滚圆等等，一年一年，就在这样的酸甜苦辣的滋味中度过。
